J. Leek Associates, Inc. was formed in 1990 as a technical services organization providing strategic quality assurance systems in the food and beverage industry. Our experience in analyzing food products spans the global market. From a humble beginning in Southwest Georgia, USA, our business has grown to include locations in Argentina, Brazil, and China.
JLA Argentina was formed in 1997 to meet ever-growing analytical needs in South America, followed by the creation of JLA China in 2003 and JLA Brazil in 2005. Altogether we have six Integrated Independent Member Companies located in these countries and the USA. Although they share resources, each one is its own separate company.
JLA was founded on Principles and Values that can be seen in the daily business transactions at each location. By specializing in origin certification, we believe in GIRBIS® “Getting It Right Before It Ships” ® . We use the highest quality assurance standards to assist our clients in meeting specifications before shipment.
As JLA experienced its first voyage into establishing offices abroad, it soon realized the great demand for origin certification worldwide. JLA Global was chartered as a parent company for leading the expansion while keeping the same Principles and Values. JLA worldwide now offers a full line of agricultural, analytical, and microbiological services, along with process and product development support. We provide services in agronomy, agricultural economics, statistical quality control, analytical systems, and food safety and manufacturing.
In January of 2011 JLA USA merged with the Institute for Environmental Health, Inc., (IEH), headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Both companies offer technical services for food safety with JLA USA historically focusing in semi-perishable foods (peanuts and tree nuts) while IEH has primarily served the perishable food industries (meats, fresh vegetables).
JLA and IEH serve others in this stronger organization by offering diverse capabilities and excellent customer service.
